This same process is taking shape in the networking market. Recently, The Linux Foundation launched a Collaborative Project with networking industry leaders called OpenDaylight to build an open source Software-Defined Networking controller. The project was launched with open governance, an open source license and a technical meritocracy to enable building a vibrant, engaging ecosystem of developers, vendors and users.
